A sign of relief engulfed the barracks. The holiday season was approaching. With two nights remaining, all soldiers in the barracks were longing to see their families and friends.
Katelyn Gallagher, A Soldier Files A Police Case After Discovering Her Dog Is Missing Under Unclear Circumstances a soldier from Ohio, was joyful, rejuvenated and eager to reunite with her family and friends. After six months away, they had so much to share.
Katelyn had missed her siblings, parents, parents, friends and most importantly, Buck. She was optimistic reunite. She alighted from her car so that she could buy some presents for her family and Buck.
“I’ve missed him so much,” she said. “Taking walks in the evening and runs in the morning. I hope he is well and healthy. I left him in good hands.”
She was welcomed warmly by her friends and family members who had thrown a party for her. Everything was going on smoothly as planned until Katelyn noticed that one of her family members was missing, and she started becoming uneasy. She excused herself and searched in and around the apartment, including the backyards in search of Buck, but she couldn’t find him.
Angelo Sullo was Katelyn’s friend who she had left Buck with to care of when she was away. She approached him and asked his whereabouts. Angelo broke the sad news to her, which left her terrified and heartbroken. He told her that he gave Buck away because he got bored taking care of him. Katelyn did not believe what she heard and was angry with Angelo.
Katelyn was so close to her pup. They shared a lot of memories together, having taken good care of him when he found him when he was only nine months old until when he was five years old when she gave him to Angelo to take good care of him when she was away.
She remembered the games they played with the pup in their backyards, how they strolled around the farm together and even swimming together, not forgetting when he took him to the puppy’s hospital for checkups when he had a fracture and for vaccinations.
Katelyn was so mad at Angelo that she decided to go and look for Buck. She needed him back. Kate posted on her Facebook account that her pup was missing and needed help if someone happened to see him. She also put on some billboards and posters everywhere that indicated Buck’s full identification. She described his skin color, approximate age, and weight.
After a long search, she decided to file a report with Cleveland police against Sullo giving a reason that he gave away his dog without providing her information on his whereabouts. She was not upset with the people whom Sullo gave Buck to because she was confident that they were unaware.
What would you do if you were Kate? What would you do if you were Angelo? Would you have given away the dog? Would you accept to take care of a friend’s dog when they are away?
Guinea Pig and Dog Share Beautiful Friendship, Similar Fur Patterns, In a Story DESTINED to Make You Cry!
If you grew up in the 80s and 90s then you probably remember the animated film, The Fox and the Hound. In the movie, two species of animal that have no business getting along end up becoming the best of friends. The film was adorable and touching, but was it realistic? As it turns out, interspecies friendship is relatively common in nature, and even more common among pet owners. This is where the story of Mr. Jenkins, an adorable puppy, and his best buddy, the guinea pig named Maple, begins.
Tahnee Reid was born and raised in Australia. Based out of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Reid had grown up as an animal lover. Reid was living with her pet guinea pig when she made the decision to adopt an adorable three-year-old puppy named Mr. Jenkins. At first, Reid was incredibly nervous about how Mr. Jenkins and Maple would get along. After all, Maple was smaller than Mr. Jenkins’ head. If the new dog wanted to put an end to Maples, he could make that happen. Fortunately, this story has a happy ending!
Upon bringing home Mr. Jenkins, an excitable Boston Terrier, Tahnee was shocked to see how her two animals got along together. Not only did they bear a striking color resemblance to one another, but they quickly became the best of friends. Tahnee said, “I really can’t believe how close they are to each other. They’re total best friends.”
According to Tahnee, Mr. Jenkins was the excitable pet that she had concerns about. If Mr. Jenkins couldn’t calm down around the little guinea pig, Tahnee would never be able to relax. However, Tahnee soon came to realize that the two pets shared a mutual passion, eating carrots! Tahnee says, “I think their friendship first blossomed over their mutual love of carrots.” Tahnee went on to explain that she would give Maples a carrot only for Mr. Jenkins to run over and beg for his own. Soon, they were sharing carrots with one another and before long they were napping together!
Nowadays, Maples is the proverbial shadow to Mr. Jenkins’ excitable daily routine. While Mr. Jenkins is the younger of the two pets, Maples tends to treat him like her own personal hero. According to Tahnee, Mr. Jenkins even acts like a parent as he’ll check on Maples throughout the day in order to make sure that she is okay! Tahnee says, “They really do have this amazing and strange little friendship. It captures the hearts of everyone that meets them or sees their photos.” Tahnee went on to explain that Mr. Jenkins had quickly grown attached to his little shadow and that he was proud to have a little sidekick who followed him around the home.
In the divisive world that we live in, it sure is nice to see how two creatures can overcome their differences. What do you think of the adorable Mr. Jenkins and his best buddy, Maples? Do you want to bring home your own monochromatic buddies?
Neglected Puppy Loses Vision, Saved By New Owner in Wholesome Story!
There is just about nothing worse than seeing an animal suffer, especially when that animal is an adorable puppy. When Puddin was first adopted, she was neglected and abused by her owners at their home in Texas. The poor little dog soon had an infection develop behind her eyes. Unfortunately, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in of Texas would not get to the puppy in time to save her vision. As a result, Puddin ended up losing her vision after veterinarians were forced to remove her eyes. Had the vets not acted in time, the infection could have cost Puddin her life! This story doesn’t end here, however, as there is a happier ending on the horizon!
After animal doctors saved Puddin’s life by removing her eyes and sewing her sockets safely shut, the future for the animal was in question. After all, it can be hard for new owners to be found when a dog is so clearly handicapped, even if that handicap came as a result of the heinous behavior of their prior owners. The team at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals remained hopeful that they would find the perfect new home for Puddin to go to and that is where Cory Gonzales comes into the story.
Cory Gonzales was a young student when he first saw Puddin on the internet. Gonzales said, “When I saw Puddin online, I immediately fell in love with her ears, of all things.” Gonzales, just 22-years-old, would quickly schedule an adoption meeting with Puddin so that he could get the chance to meet the dog to see if they were a match. Gonzales said, “The day after I met her, I came back in and adopted her.” After meeting Puddin, Gonzales was quick to fall in love with the adorable puppy and the adoption paperwork would soon be filled out.
Despite losing her vision to the vile behavior of her former owners, Puddin soon found herself in a home where she was loved and revered. Gonzales was recently contacted concerning an update on Puddin. Gonzales said of his new puppy, “She is five months old now, and the way she has adapted to her new life is incredible.” Gonzales went on to explain that Puddin had managed to learn how to live in relative comfort without her sight. Gonzales explained that Puddin has begun to embrace her other senses to find toys, run around, play, and even stop herself from walking into things. Gonzales said, “It’s really amazing to watch.”
While Puddin was fortunate enough to find a happy ending, not all animals are so lucky. If you or someone you know suspects that an animal is being abused, do not hesitate to reach out to your local animal advocacy group. All animals deserve to be treated properly with love and respect!
A 5-Year-Old’s 911 Pizza-Craving Inspires a Police Response
It’s not every day that the 911-dispatcher gets a call from a 5-year-old boy, but when Manuel Beshara called he wasn’t calling with an emergency. He knew about 911, and he wanted to report that he was hungry, and he wanted a pizza.
Immediate Police Response
The response was immediate. Officers Morales, Mejia, and Hernandez headed out from the Sanford Police Department, to perform a wellness check on the 5-year-old. Initial details had indicated that Manuel reported that he was hungry, so they wanted to make sure he was ok. Before they got far, though, further details came in. They were able to determine that the little boy had not only reported that he was hungry, but that he wanted a pizza.
Initially, the response from the officers must have been relief, and perhaps a chuckle. The officers probably know other precocious little boys or girls who would pull pranks or shenanigans to get a pizza. Despite the relief, though, they needed to make sure that the little boy understood the gravity of the situation (and that he wouldn’t do it again). 911 is for emergencies only.
At that point, it was pretty clear that the 911 call was probably not an emergency, but the officers still needed to check on the boy to make sure their assumptions about his safety were correct. At the same time, they needed to be sure that he would not try a similar stunt in the future. 911 is not the way to get a free pizza!
Meeting Manuel (5-year-old)
Officers Morales, Mejia, and Hernandez arrived at Manuel’s home, and they spoke to him and his older sister. It was clear that he had made the 911 call without his sister’s knowledge, and also that he was not in any danger. In his conversation with Manuel, Officer Morales determined that the boy knew that what he’d done was wrong. There’s nothing quite like the experience of seeing a group of police officers show up to your house to put a damper on any impish pleasure over a pizza prank call.
So, it was a teaching opportunity for the officers with Manuel, but they also made sure he didn’t come away with a negative impression of police officers in general. While gently chiding him for the serious offense of calling in his pizza emergency, the officers also brought him a Pizza Hut peace offering. So, Manuel learned a lesson. He discovered the value of 911, but he also discovered that the police officers really wanted to deliver his fondest desire, a pizza.
The crisis was averted, but it’s also unlikely that Manuel will ever try that prank again. It’s also strongly suggested that you refrain from trying a similar prank at home. While the officers were kind and understanding to the 5-year-old kid, it’s just as likely that you could end up with far more serious repercussions than a stern talking-to, and a hot-and-fresh Pizza Hut delivery. It’s a cute story, because we’ve all been that kid, who carries out crazy, unforgettable antics. It’s also easy to believe that the little boy was super lucky. He experienced police officers who were kind and understanding, but a 911 prank is a serious offense. The story could have ended very different!
Have you ever done something crazy like calling 911 to report a pizza emergency? What about your kids? Do you remember the crazy antics they tried to pull off? In this case, it’s all’s well that ends well, but it’s interesting to hear about other situations that were not so friendly or forgiving.
Kidney Stone Diagnosis Leads to the Surprise Birth of Triplets
The Clevengers were all but certain that their little family was complete with their son, Clint, three dogs, and two cats. But when Mrs. Clevenger was diagnosed with kidney stones, little did they realize that a sudden rush to the hospital would trigger the fanfare to ring in a huge new addition to their family.
Sarah, (Mrs. Clevenger) told reporters, “Years ago I was diagnosed with issues related to low bone density. To counter this, I changed my diet to incorporate a lot more calcium. Of course, everything has it’s ups and downs, right? So soon after the doctor told me my calcium problems had passed, I found out that I had developed kidney stones as a result of my high-calcium diet. I was like, ‘fantastic.’”
Naturally, Sarah began doing everything she could to decrease the pain of passing kidney stones. Her doctors gave her the option of having them removed surgically. But the Clevengers had researched the issue and found that drinking lemon water regularly can decrease the size of kidney stones and can sometimes even dissolve them completely. Sarah decided she would either pass her stones or try to dissolve them by drinking lots of natural-lemon flavored water.
Time moved on and the family had more or less forgotten about Sarah’s impending kidney stone problem. The pain and discomfort on her sides seemed to have gone away almost entirely, and the family assumed that the stones had disappeared on their own. But the day came when her kidney stones apparently, once again, reared their spiky little heads, as Sarah woke up one night, shocked by a blindingly acute pain in her abdomen.
Berry Clevenger, Sarah’s husband, naturally assumed that his wife was beginning to pass her kidney stones. Later, he would tell local reporters, “I never really forgot about Sarah’s kidney stones. They were supposed to have gone away, but I was always ready in case they didn’t.”
Sarah commented that she had a good idea that it wasn’t kidney stones, but the pain and the shock of waking up in the night in such a state made it hard to explain herself to Barry, who was so determined to get Sarah to the hospital that he couldn’t be swayed.
Berry plucked their five year old son out of his bed, plopped him in the SUV and then frantically carried his pain-wracked wife to the vehicle as well. The family was taken in through the emergency ward and Sarah was about to be given a massive dose of pain killers when a nurse came running down the hall with news that would change everything.
“Don’t take that Vicodin,” the nurse shouted, throwing everyone off guard. “You’re not passing kidney stones. You’re having triplets! And they’re girls!” The nurse showed the couple an ex-ray which confirmed the nurse’s startling claim.
Today, just three years later, Sarah is sure that her kidney stones were dissolved long ago- but she doesn’t think about it very much. Now, the happy family of 10 (including the three dogs and two cats) are gleefully trying to keep up with their three newest additions, Ruby, Agate, and Crystal…
“We named them after precious stones,” Sarah said. “Because that’s what they are, not kidney stones, but precious little stones.”
Mom’s Expression Captures Essence of Back-to-School Experience
Back-to-School is billed as a fun-and-exciting time. There’s the anticipatory glow in kids’ eyes in ads from Target and Wal-Mart. It sounds great. After all, who wouldn’t love all the deals, the smell of antiseptic wipes, and squeak of brand-new sneakers and glittery sandals? Don’t believe it. It’s all a sham. Honestly, the real deal is perfectly captured by that picture… and here’s why.
First, The Lists
It’s great that schools post those great school lists online, and they’re even in the stores for easy reference. They always outline the 10 million supplies and materials that the kids need. It all sounds great until you really start looking at the list, and see that there’s no way that your kid will ever use all the supplies. The mega list supplies are destined to become part of the teacher’s barter system, a clever solution to the chronic school-wide shortage of supplies. But, all of that really doesn’t matter at this moment, because when you venture to the school supply bins at any store, they’re bare. You tried online outlets, and they’re out too. So, now, you’re just grabbing a basket-full of stuff, hoping that some of it will apply to the needed items on the list. It’s like Black Friday, only for school supplies.
But, That’s Not All… No, That’s Not All…
We venture to the clothing aisles next, but those are just scary. It quickly becomes clear that the kids have all grown two inches, but the size they’ve managed to achieve appears to be absent from the clothing racks. It’s clear that every other child in the multiverse has grown to the precise size(s) you need, so you’re left trying to find something that’s too big or too small. (Too big is usually preferable, since it means you may not have to buy clothes for a while, at least you’d like to think that, if it wasn’t so obvious that the boys will wear holes in their knees before the week is out, and the girls will refuse to wear it after the first time.)
You’ve got clothes for the kids. It’s an accomplishment, and you breathe a deep sigh of relief, until you remember that the lunchboxes are all in tatters after last year and you still need to figure out lunch eatables that your kids will actually eat. It’s no small feat, since each of the kids have dietary restrictions. You vaguely remember those bygone days when your own school lunch consisted of a PB&J sandwich, with an apple thrown in. Oh, how far we’ve come from those days.
So, The First Day of School?
When you get to the first day of school, you’ve already spent days, hours, and frantic minutes scrambling to get everything your kid needs and wants for their return to school. Where does that leave you, the mom (or dad), who has frantically scrambled to pull all the disparate parts together into a mangled mess. Florida Photographer Shawna Genua depicts the calm after the storm. It focuses on moms in their bathrobes, with glasses of wine aloft. They all look tired, exhausted even, and they appear to be celebrating the kids’ return to school. The implication is that the moms have time to sit around and relax, since the kids are all out of the house for a few hours. There’s even the celebratory cupcake in one mom’s hand. It’s relief that the moms are relaying in their faces… if only just for a few moments. Since three-quarters of all American mothers with children at home also work, three of those moms in the pictures will probably be headed off to work in a bit. It’s the fun, frenetic, wonderful life of a mom. Gotta love it!
