These are the Most Valuable Items Ever Featured on ‘Pawn Stars’

If you are a fan of collectibles, ancient antiques, and haggling, then you’ll no doubt enjoy watching Pawn Stars on the History Channel. The series follows the team at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, NV. The reality TV series has been airing since 2009 and the show has featured some incredibly rare and valuable items along the way. Today, we are going to leap behind the counter of your favorite pawn shop so that we can highlight the rarest and most valuable items in Pawn Stars’ history!

Fossilized Dinosaur Eggs – $600

No, these are not dragon eggs, but they are authentic fossilized dinosaur eggs. While this find is incredibly cool and scientifically notable, the truth is that dino eggs just aren’t worth as much as you would expect. The owner of the eggs had been looking for $20k for the items, and he was floored when the Pawn Stars team only offered him $600.

1961 Fender Strat Owned By Vick Flick – $55k

While most non-music buffs don’t know who Vic Flick is, Rick Harrison was well aware. Vic Flick was an enormously influential guitar player which made his 1961 Fender Strat all the more valuable. Rick and co were ready to sell the shop to get their hands on the legendary ax used to write the James Bond soundtrack, and they would pay more than $55k for the honor.

Spanish Fleet Coin From 1715 – $18k

When the Old Man sees something gold and shiny, his eyes tend to widen. So when Jody brought in an ancient gold coin dating back to 1715, you knew that the Harrison’s were going to make an offer. The coin had been minted in Peru and had received a valuation of more than $18,000! Talk about a lucky coin, right?

200lbs of Silver – $111,000

When the Old Man sees a pile of silver on the counter, he immediately reaches for his checkbook. Silver has always been a great investment, so when the Pawn Stars team saw 200lbs of it show up at their front door, they made sure to purchase it. Valued at over $100k, the Pawn Stars team will instead melt the silver into their own commemorative coins, selling them for $70 a piece.

1922 Proof Peace High Relief Dollar – $80k

The Pawn Stars team will always have time to bid on forms of currency. This 1922 Proof Peace High Relief Dollar was valued at between $50k and $100k. The Pawn Stars crew would buy the coin for $80k with the goal of turning it around for a quick profit. According to Rick’s research, only 10 of these coins still exist.

Photogravures by Edward Curtis – $20k

Edward Curtis is a relatively obscure artist if you don’t have comprehensive historical knowledge of his era. With that being said, when his photogravures made their way to Silver & Gold, Rick had to get his hands on them. Rick would pay more than $20k just to have the honor of selling these products in his shop.

Authentic Olympic Gold Medals – $30k

Most of us will never get the opportunity to compete at the Olympics, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get our hands on some Olympic Gold. The only downside is that you’ll need about $30,000 in order to purchase the same Olympic Gold Medals that Rick acquired in an episode of the show. The medals had belonged to Jumpin’ Joe Greene before the athlete sold them during times of financial duress.

Original Poster of Pablo Picasso – $7,000

When we think of artists like Pablo Picasso, they feel like they are from a completely different era. This impressive poster featuring Picasso helps to give life to the legendary creator.  This poster had been found by Zachary Bodish who quickly came to realize that it was authentic. The poster ended up being valued at over $7,000!

Original Godfather Script w/ Autograph – $12k

The Godfather is one of the most influential crime films of all time. As residents of Sin City, you knew that the original Godfather script, featuring an autograph by Al Ruddy, would catch Rick Harrison’s attention. After the autograph had been verified, Harrison made a lowball offer but the owner of the script wouldn’t budge. They’d later sell the famous memorabilia for $12,000.

Book of Mormon 1842 Edition – $40k

Long before the Book of Mormon was a hit play on Broadway, it was a book printed by Joseph Smith. This copy of Book of Mormon came directly off of Joseph Smith’s printing press back in 1842. Such a valuable piece of literature couldn’t be passed on and the Pawn Stars team would pay $24k with the intent of reselling it for $40k.

1932 Ford Roadster – $95k

Cars, cars, cars. Who doesn’t love an antique automobile? When the Pawn Stars team got their chance to bid on a 1932 Custom Roadster, they knew that they had to take their shot. At the time, the 500hp Roadster only had 450 miles to its name. After a fiery round of negotiations, the Pawn Stars team would come away with the car for a price of $68,250. Rick would go on to sell the car for nearly $100k!

1941 Gibson SJ-200 – $150k

We personally can’t tell one Gibson guitar from another, but that isn’t the case for Rick and Corey! This 1961 Gibson SG Les Paul came into the store by way of Mary Ford and Les Paul. Mary Ford had been married to Les Paul, the latter being one of the most famous names in musical history. To say that this was a valuable piece of rock history would be to sell the guitar short.

De Natura Fossilium owned by Isaac Newton – $20k

You could make the argument that Isaac Newton was a pretty big deal in the world of science. So when Newton’s own copy of De Natura Fossilium found its way into the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn, the Harrison’s had to make their move. The book ended up valued at more than $20,000 but the Pawn Stars team managed to haggle them down to $7,000.

Painting By Ben Nicholson – $5,500

The world of fine art is hard to navigate for laymen, so we’ll take Rick’s assessment as gospel. Jo Heaven purchased this Ben Nicholson painting from a thrift store before realizing that the art was worth far more than the dollar she paid for it! Rick would make an offer just north of $5,500 to get his hands on the piece.

Spanish Gold From 1500s – $50k

Anytime we hear the phrase ‘Spanish Gold’ on Pawn Stars, our ears perk up! This block of gold came from Spain in the 1550s. It’s unreal to think that the gold bar would survive long enough to make it on an episode of Pawn Stars, but here we are. The gold had been discovered at the sight of a shipwreck and was immediately valued at $50,000.

Order of the White Eagle Commemorative Medallion – $30k

Commemorative jewelry is always going to be popular and occasionally it will be valuable, as well. The World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop was fortunate enough to get their hands on a white eagle emblem made in Poland back in 1795. At the time, Poland was split into three different sections with Russia claiming ownership of their own slice of the area.

Pinball Wizard Machine – $2,600

In one of our favorite episodes in the series, Chumlee would become the hero after bidding on a Pinball Wizard machine. Chumlee would break out his own obscure facts in order to impress the team, eventually paying $2,600 for a chance to rehab the old arcade game. This machine had been built in 1973 and is considered to be extremely rare.

Authentic Egyptian Mummy Mask – $30k

Not that we’re afraid of curses or anything, but we wouldn’t be in a rush to put our hands on this mummy mask! In an incredible episode, the team at Pawn Stars got to bid on a genuine Egyptian mummy mask valued at around $22,500. Corey would learn that the mask could be worth significantly more, so he would offer a flat $30,000 for the right to possess the artifact.

Stephen Stills’ 1941 Gibson Guitar  – $105k

It’s no secret that the Old Man loves good music. This 1941 Gibson ax made its way to our favorite pawn shop by way of Stephen Stills. The guitar had been owned by Stills when he was performing with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. The antique guitar looked as good as ever and Rick was quick to offer $85,000 for the instrument.

17th Century Ship Bell – $15k

When Rick Harrison sees something that he wants, he gets it. As a history buff, Rick and the Old Man are always going to put their money where their mouth is when it comes to historic artifacts. So, when a customer wandered in to the store with an authentic ship’s bell from the 17th century, the Harrison family had to have it! The cost of such a rare bell? $15,000!

Bronze O.J. Simpson Statue – $80k

Believe it or not, this isn’t the only O.J. Simpson-related item to come into the Pawn Stars shop! This massive bronze O.J. Simpson statue was brought in by the former rap star, Flavor-Flav. The musician claimed that he had put the statute next to his pool but was looking to sell it for $125k. Rick offered $80k but Flavor-Flav wouldn’t budge. Guess it wasn’t time to sell the statue!

Signed Spider-Man Art by Stan Lee – $5,000

Now that Stan Lee has tragically passed away at the age of 95, all the memorabilia that he made famous is going to skyrocket in value. Before Stan Lee’s passing, the famous Marvel creator had visited the Pawn Stars shop with a piece of signed Spider-Man artwork. The team quickly offered $5,000 for the piece, though we’re not sure that they will ever look to sell it!

2014 Hertz Penske GT Mustang – $60k

The World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop doesn’t just stick to items that can fit through their front door! Over the years, Rick and company have fallen in love with purchasing valuable vehicles. This 2014 Hertz Penske GT Mustang rolled up to the door as an incredibly rare vehicle with only 150 models produced off of the line. The car was valued at $75,000 after Rick’s NASCAR buddy Joe Logano showed up to take a look at it.

Stolen Diamond Earrings – $40k

An unfortunate side effect of working in the world of pawn is that you never know when stolen items will make it to your shop. As any pawn shop owner knows, stolen items can be repossessed by law enforcement without any refund on your end. So, when Rick bought stolen earings for $40k, he had no idea that he had just flushed his money down the toilet.

2001 Super Bowl Ring – $30k

If you want to win a Super Bowl Championship ring but don’t have any football skills, Rick and the Old Man can help you out. The Pawn Stars team found their way to a 2001 Patriots Super Bowl ring that they purchased for just $2,600. As one of the most decorated franchises in NFL history, the odds are good that this ring will appreciate in value.

#3 Gold Piece – $2,650

There is something so fascinating about ancient coins. This No. 3 Gold Piece was minted in 1881 and remained in almost perfect condition until Rick acquired it for his store. Rick would pay just $2,650 for the coins, and they would quickly join his collection of iconic older currency. If you want to get your hands on a real No. 3 coin, they are still available at the shop!

Original Sketches From Where the Wild Things Are – $350k

If you grew up reading the incredible Maurice Sendak book, Where the Wild Things Are, then you would know how cool this piece of artwork is. These original illustrations were used to create the incredible book that we all grew up reading. As original illustrations from the world-famous author, Rick knew that the pictures were valuable. He would talk the dealer of the art down to $250,000 before selling the art for $350k himself.

Faberge Brooch – $80k

Anytime that we hear ‘Faberge’ we know that something valuable is on screen. This amazing Faberge brooch was modeled after a spider. Despite how creepy the accessory looks, the craftsmanship was impossible to deny.  The owner of the brooch had no idea what they owned, and they were looking for only a couple hundred bucks. Rick decided to be nice before offering them $15k, a number that they readily accepted.

Greek Didrachm – $1,600

You can’t walk into any pawn shop without seeing old coins. With that being said, only the Pawn Stars team will have an authentic Greek Didrachm for sale at the front of their store! This authentic Greek coin can be dated back to 325 B.C. Despite the age of the coin, it was still only valued at $1,600. At that point, we’d want to just keep it for ourselves.

Wayne’s World Car – $9,500

Any pawn shop owner will know that authentic movie memorabilia can be a great investment. For that reason, Rick went to see the 1976 AMC Pacer used in the film, Wayne’s World. While the seller had been looking for $15k, Rick was able to talk him down to just $9,500. Somebody call Dana Carvey so we can go for a spin!

Liquid Pistol by Paul Giffard – $3,000

Rick and Corey love to purchase old guns, so who can blame them for wanting to acquire this 1872 Liquid Pistol by Paul Giffard? This iconic and quirky gun utilizes carbonic acid in order to drive bullets down the shaft of the weapon via gas. Only 500 liquid pistols were ever created and only 100 are still into existence. The Pawn Stars crew valued the gun at just $3,000, but it was still really cool to see!

Robosaurus – $1 Million

It isn’t every day that you see a giant robotic dinosaur! Robosaurus has been an integral part of many monster truck shows throughout the country. With giant claws and a fire-breathing maw, Robosaurus is quite an impressive specimen. The monstrous vehicle was built 30 years ago for the movie, Steel Justice. The owner originally wanted $5 million for the machine but Rick valued it at $1 million and the two went their separate ways.

O.J. Simpson’s White Ford Bronco – $1.25 Million

If you are going to purchase history, you might as well go all in. Rick and the Old Man are huge lovers of American history, even when it dips into the realm of crime. When O.J. Simpson’s infamous white Ford Bronco came to the store, Rick knew he had to take a shot at buying it. Unfortunately, the owner was asking far too much and the two could not come to a deal.

George Washington’s Suit – $2.5 Million

It isn’t every day that you get to touch clothing worn by the first President of the United States. Rick visited a private dealer during an episode of Pawn Stars. In the episode, he got to look at Washington’s actual suit which had been made in the 1750s. The suit was valued at $3 million but Rick just couldn’t pull the trigger.

Homeless Man Comes to the Rescue of Lost 1st Grader in Houston

A homeless man in Houston became an unexpected hero when he helped a lost 1st grader, who has special needs, find her way home. Six-year-old Serenity’s day took a scary turn when she disappeared during dismissal time from Lantrip Elementary School, located in Houston.

Serenity’s mother, Mercedes Polk, arrived at the school as usual to pick up her daughter, only to find no trace of her. School staff assured Polk that Serenity was somewhere on the premises, but as minutes turned into an hour, it became apparent that something was wrong. Determined to find her daughter, Polk began her search.

The assistant principal eventually guided Polk to a gas station a mile away from the school, where they found Serenity in a state of distress. The young girl, with tears in her eyes, recounted her attempt to find her family’s home, which is a 30-minute drive away. The situation left both mother and daughter shaken and terrified.

“Someone needs to be held accountable,” Polk expressed, reflecting the concern and fear any parent would feel in such a situation. The Houston Independent School District (HISD) acknowledged the incident and stated, “HISD is actively investigating the incident at Lantrip Elementary. Student safety is our top priority.”

However, amidst the distressing situation, a ray of hope emerged. Serenity pointed out a nearby homeless man, stating that he had come to her aid. Polk, acknowledging the homeless man’s role, said, “He did save her life. Something definitely would have happened to my baby. She could have got hit by a car, kidnapped, anything.”

This story sheds light on the importance of kindness and compassion, even in the most unexpected places. The homeless man’s selfless act underscores the idea that heroes can come from any background. The incident not only highlights the need for improved safety measures but also emphasizes the positive impact individuals can have when they extend a helping hand.

As the community reflects on this incident, it serves as a reminder that a simple act of kindness can make a significant difference in someone’s life. Serenity’s unexpected guardian angel reminds us all that compassion knows no boundaries, and that even in challenging circumstances, humanity and empathy prevail.

Dog Rescued After Getting Stuck in an Arkansas Culvert Pipe

Sarrah M

Published

Dogs get themselves into the darnedest messes sometimes. Practically driven by their noses, dogs will follow things or smells into places they have no clue how to get out of. The normal reaction is to back up, but what happens if they go so far in, they can’t back up? That was the case for one canine who literally plugged up a drainage pipe.

Imagine being woken up by the racket of a backhoe grumbling its way into the Earth on the street next to you. That was the case for one neighborhood that found themselves looking out the window at a noisy racket first thing in the morning as the sun was coming up. Flashing fire engine lights also added to the mix, lighting the place up like a Christmas tree.

Bella Vista residents found themselves sitting in a front row seat watching a spectacle caused by a dog that went and wedged itself into a culvert pipe on one mild-mannered Bracknell Lane. More than likely, the dog was after something and was in such a hurry, it went head-first into the pipe without thinking about whether it could get through much less fit. So, once inside, the dumb dog got stuck and started whimpering and panicking up a storm. The dog’s owner was out early before the sun was up looking for his pet, heard the dog stuck, and called 911 for help. Firefighters arrived by 5am, and that’s when the circus started.

There was a bit of confusion at first when the fire engine arrived, as no one actually had a visual on the dog. As it turned out, the big puppy was deep inside the middle of the drainage pipe and wasn’t getting out anytime soon on his own power. That then meant the fire department had to enlist the aid of the town’s street department with earth-moving equipment.

Most times, dogs in a panicked state freak out badly and bite anyone near them trying to help or make contact. Instead, with a snack offered close by, the stuck dog was extremely cooperative and didn’t make a fuss as the firefighters worked to free it. On inspection, the pipe looked big enough for the young dog to make it through. However, deep in the middle, the weight of the ground had bent the channel tighter, and that’s where the canine got stuck.

Once rescued, the dog was back to normal, healthy and acting like nothing happened. Of course, the dog owner might have had a lecture or two about controlling his pet in the future as well as the cost of the rescue.

Coffin Builder Transformed Into Millionaire After Meteorite Crashes Into His Indonesia Home

Danielle S

Many people join long lines on a daily basis purchasing lottery tickets with the hope of being the lucky winner of some serious cash.

Others work tirelessly, but to no avail. However, for an Indonesian man, all he needed was a miracle from the sky, and he certainly received, albeit in a scary way.

A meteorite came crashing through his roof recently and in the blink of an eye, has transformed him into a millionaire.

The North Sumatraman who makes coffins for a living, has since sold the precious rock from the sky for Dh6,611,760.

When a meteorite that was recently sold for $1.8 million (Dh6,611,760) crashed through his roof, a humble coffin maker in Indonesia became an instant millionaire.

A meteorite worth about £1.4 million crashed through the roof of an Indonesian coffin maker’s house, making him a millionaire.

When the 2.1kg rock smashed through the tin veranda outside Josua Hutagalung’s living room, he was building on a coffin outside his house in the town of Kolang.

After getting over the shock of the noise, the 33-year-old dug into his garden soil and discovered the piece of space debris.

“The noise was so loud that it shook parts of the house. And after looking, I discovered that the house’s tin roof had collapsed,” he told Indonesia’s Kompas newspaper. “The stone was already warm when I raised it.”

Carbonaceous chondrite is an exceptionally rare form of meteorite that is believed to be 4.5 billion years old and worth about £645 per gram.

Mr Hutagalung told The Sun that he sold the meteor to US meteorite specialist Jared Collins, who then sold it to a US buyer, who is currently storing it at Arizona State University’s Centre for Meteorite Studies.

Even though the coffin maker has not specifically stated the exact purchase price, it is believed to be in the region of £1 million. Mr Hutagalung stated that he had saved enough money to retire and that he intends to establish a place of worship in his neighborhood.

I’d like to receive emails from The Independent about special deals, activities, and news. Please read our privacy policy.

“I’ve really yearned to have a daughter, and I’m hoping this is a sign that I’ll be fortunate enough to have one now,” he said.

“My phone lit up with insane offers for me to jump on a flight and purchase the meteorite,” Mr Collins said. It was smack in the midst of the Covid crisis, and I couldn’t decide whether to buy the rock for myself or collaborate with scientists and dealers in the United States.

“I took as much cash as I could and went searching for Josua, who turns out to be a professional negotiator.”

The man who leads Indonesia’s National Aeronautics and Space Agency, Thomas Djamaluddin, explained to the press that such a big piece falling in a residential neighborhood was unusual. “The bulk of meteorites hit places far from human settlements, such as seas, forests, or deserts.”
